Just brilliant. Tense. Full of desperate dire straits and the perfectly worded, scattered thoughts of a teetering mind that’s going right the hell over the edge. Cheerios with canned gravy…what a line. Cindy is the only one I know that can write that and make it click.

Ransom Newton had one kid, a girl, who died as a child. You cannot be his great-great anything, you would have to be related to his brother, like my fiance is. He is buried with his wife and daughter and their graves have been desecrated. You left out that when they died in an accident, he went mad and the town thought he was crazy. His brother carried on the trading business until Ransom died. You left out quite a bit from this story. His “curse” is on the town of Roswell, where they did most of their trading. Everyone around here knows the story. I live here.
